The freezing point of sea water decreases with increasing salinity and is about −2 °C (28.4 °F) at 35 g/l.

Today the weather decided to be perfect for photographing, so me and Andreas went out to Bjønnesstranda, a beach at the coast of Kaupang, to check out the seawater ice.
The seas doesn't freeze that often, and the ice is usually to unstable to venture on.
We decided since we could see two people out on the ice, and the tracks of two more people that is was probably safe. Which is a bit silly, because having four people decide something is safe or not is not really a big group at all.
But we made it ♥ And with a cold February ahead, the ice is probably safe for a couple of weeks more.

um... I wanted to write something, but I forgot what it was... ;) maybe the thoughts got frozen up on their way ;P

btw nice photos :) the one with the branches seen from the top is kinda intriguing ;] like a background for something that isn't there...

and well, I thought that our polish -20 is a waaay too much...
than I see a frozen sea (I see the sea, whatever) that tells something [a lot?!] about the temperature out there ;) I think it's time to stop complaining and go get myself a raft ;P

warm greetings from the other side of Baltic Sea ;)

  5. tiny_noisy_orange_dot: Thanks :) So the sea isn't frozen there? It's only frozen in the fjord here, if there's no boat traffic. And there's not a lot of places like that I suppose x)

well...now I'm bit confused 'bout all that freezing stuff ;) I read that Baltic sea was totally frozen a few times in the past...and that it is usually frozen a bit every colder winter... I think I'm not very good at geographic so maybe I'll ask somebody more competent for more details ;) and for now i'll just stay in my unconscious amazement ;D

anyway, whatever you've got there is great ;) maybe you'll take some landscape photos though ;> your equipment will be happy to complete different task ;D

and i'll go to take some pics of the nearby lake and pretend it's bigger and more effective than in reality ;)

[sorry about my english, i hope it's understandable...and sorry for spamming the comments x)]

    take care! ;)
