A pier is a raised structure, including bridge and building supports and walkways, over water, typically supported by widely spread piles or pillars.

Before we went home to our apartment on Monday last week (I always stay a couple of days at my mothers house during Christmas), A picked me up but before we drove back we stopped by Oterøya down at Østre Halsen too feed the swans and the ducks with left-over bread we've been saving over the last couple of months. There were even a few crows there, but they didn't seem to be that hungry.
I stood at the pier and A threw his bread out on the ice by the bridge that connects the little island with the main-land. On the ice the ducks skated along clumsily, and in the water the swans fought amongst themselves as the ducks ate most of the bread I threw to them. Feeding the birds was a lot of fun, and I hope they all had full tummy's so they didn't have to think about food for at least a couple of hours ♥
